For carpet and sheet vinyl there is no percentage to type in. You buy linear feet of a full roll width, and what you waste is whatever fell out of the cuts. So FlooringFlow lays the room out on your roll, places the seams, holds the nap to one direction, and draws it — a sheet you can print and hand to whoever is cutting.

A real house is mixed. Put LVP in the living areas and carpet in the bedrooms and one takeoff answers both: whole cartons on one side, linear feet off a roll on the other, stairs priced per step and trim counted by the stick.

Every waste percentage on the hard-surface side is itemised and sourced, so you can see what is manufacturer-published and what is just what the trade does — and argue with either one.
